Heart – What is Your Heart Telling You?

As featured in:  Best Ever YOU! Magazine

What is your heart telling you?

Your Heart Speaks!

You’ve heard it before. Doctors tell you to maintain a “healthy heart” to keep a healthy body. Your relationship has gone sour, and you talk to your family and friends about your “broken heart.” Therapist speak of your “heavy heart” catalyzing depression, and exercise trainers emphasize you won’t achieve your targeted weight until you perform aerobic exercise at your “target heart rate.” Even the Bible tells us to “guard your heart with the closest custody, for in it are the sources of your life.” Yes indeed, the heart is the universal symbol that speaks love in any language.

It would appear, the answers you most desire in your head, can only be discovered through the spiritual journey into your heart.

Heart Ache can be one of sadness or joy, but make no mistake, it can never be ignored. When you feel that tug in your heart – know in your head it’s a powerful prompt and call for you to take some immediate action.

If you have recently loss a loved one, you know what heartache does to your entire body in the grieving process. The sadness seems to embed itself into each blood cell pumping throughout your veins. Be gentle with yourself, for this is your call to heartfelt peace.

I <3 You

The freshness of a new found love will wrap your heart in an ache of euphoria -to the point you can’t think of anything else but your beloved.
Your mind will wander into daydreams of pleasant reminders with the one you love, automatically recycling the happiness of unending blissful joy.. Yes, your love ache can quickly become an addiction which sweeps you down the aisle of “I do – until death do us part.”

When you pray or meditate, you can only experience transformation through prayer from the heart. You must experience the words you speak, the affirmations you visualize, in order to generate any success in your ultimate transformation. Words are just empty vessels without value, if you don’t pour authenticity into the equation.

To be truly alive requires a functioning heart. You can’t take a breath without your heart. Your heart is the center of your being, the ultimate indicator of being human. Your heart is the greatest gift you can ever give to another, and the most powerful motivator in achieving your dream.

As you focus on tangible ways to improve the clinical health of your heart, don’t forget to incorporate creative ways to hear the messages your heart beats to speak to you.

Beauty & PeaceA heart filled with love and forgiveness is a medicine without any side effects, and a reliable cure for challenges even the blind can clearly see.

Start Where You’re Standing

(As seen in All Books Review International; Inspiration)

How many times have you said to yourself, “I’m going to do that when —- happens.” “I’ll be able to do that when I have —– amount of money.” “As soon as I finish —– I’ll start to do ——.”

Start Now!

What you probably don’t hear yourself saying is, “If I wait another day to begin my dream of ——, I may not have the good health, family support, and/or love of friends which I now I enjoy, to enable me to accomplish ———. I must not delay another day!”

Do you see the difference?

They key factor in getting your dreams, your goals accomplished, is starting in some way, large or small, right now where you stand. You must begin by beginning.

The goal you can control is to create motion in this moment. Make tangible the thoughts you envision, and your actions will provide all the momentum you need to give your inspirations life.

Here are six simple success tips, you can do right now where you stand.:

1. Write down your dream / goal.
2. List three steps you will need to complete to achieve this dream/goal.
3. Identify a mentor who has already accomplished this goal, or something similar to your goal.
4, Listen to one radio interview, or read one ezine with this mentor.
5. Make one phone call, or send one email/letter to accomplish one step in point #2.
6. Keep repeating.

You can literally do all six of these steps in under one hour, and never leave your house!

Your Feet are Your Friends to the End!

None of us is promised tomorrow. Don’t risk the opportunity to taste your delight today. The time is now.

Surrender your illusion “—-” is required to begin. Accepting you must start where you are already standing, is the very first step towards touching your dream in this moment.

Your feet are your faithful friends to the end!

Positive & Negative People – Are You Good Garnish?

Gotta’ love it!

That little jazz-of-pizzazz which delights the dish, sparkles the eyes with a surprise, and magnifies the meal in a moment. Yes, good garnish makes any ordinary dish extraordinarily spectacular in every possible way!

Good Garnish Makes the Dish!

Garnish - defined by Websters Dictionary is “to decorate (food) with something that adds color or flavor.”

This past week I was doing a radio show with host of the “Hatched Egg”, Amy Furbee, and we were talking about the issue of becoming who we associate with. Surrounding yourself with positive or negative people, definitely has an effect on YOU, whether you want it to or not.

Stand next to perfume or manure long enough,
and guess how you’ll soon be smelling?!

Suddenly, Amy interjected,

“It’s like my husband and I always say – Is that person Good Garnish?”

Are YOU Good Garnish?

WOW! I love that analogy – because it resonates truth beyond compare.

The people you chose to associate with, are either good garnish in a true blue right side up world, or distasteful wilted garnish in a green sky upside down world. You must decide what you will allow by your side.

A little bit of garnish, possess a powerful impact on what the whole plate looks like. Think about how just a little piece of something, makes such an enormous difference on the larger portion. Doesn’t the concept make you pause and reflect?

Next time you feel agitated around someone, or perhaps just a little confused, ask yourself, “Is this person”Good Garnish”in my life?”

You may decide you need a different ornament decorating your sustenance. If you’re plate is already full, adding even the smallest sour flavor could be a major killer tipping point which destroys your whole meal.

Who is Good or Bad garnish in your life today? Are you Good Garnish for the people you meet?

You are what you eat. Bon appetite… and Cheers!

Bon Appetite & Cheers!

Clear the Fear! How to Get Rid of Fear & Anxiety

Fear in the past is resentment. Fear in the present is anger. Fear in the future is worry.

Fears Erased Daily Here!

Do you have a fear you want to clear out of your life? Good! Because fear is part of an upside down green sky world, which doesn’t serve you towards living your most happy, purposeful best today.

Fear is based in a lack of control, helplessness, victim mentality. When you feed fear, you starve peace. Fear is always accompanied by anxiety, confusion, and lack of hope.

Fear does not contain any faith. Faith evaporates fear, because faith knows a Higher Power, God, Universe (whatever is working for you in this moment) is a greater source which loves and cares for you unconditionally. When you know you are being loved, watched over, and protected, you automatically feel more safe, empowered, and inspired.

Think of when you were a child. Did you worry about where your next meal would be coming from? Stress out over having clothes to wear? Did you worry about what you even looked like? No. You lived in the present moment, and trusted the adults, your parents, were supplying the necessities you needed without even realizing you wanted them.

Fearless Recipies

The cure for worry then, is rooted in faith. So how then, do you get more faith?

Famous Clear the Fear Recipie:

1. Identify a time in your past when you worried.
2. List what you worried might happen.
3. Write down what actually did happen.

If you’re like me, many of the negative outcomes you thought would happen, never did. And if they did happen, you still survived. This leads to the grand finale step of them all.

4. Are you still alive to talk about it?

You see, if you have overcome the worst case scenario fear based result, regardless of how severe the fear, you have survived. If you have survived, you have overcome the worst result possible: death. Even then, many would argue death is not the worst event in your life.

Fear is false, because it is something which hasn’t happened yet. It is a feeling, and feelings are not factual, they just occur as a result of a thought.

Feelings –> Thoughts –> Behaviors;
and the circle continues in an endless cycle of infinity.

If you want to get rid of a fear, face it head on with faith. Prove to yourself your faith is alive, by reminding yourself of factual past events where your fears never came to appear.

Remember, you have been divinely watched over to make it this far in your life, with and without all these obstacles you still survived. The Divine is on your side!

Fear can’t survive where faith is alive.

No Fear Here!

GFMG Your Way to Happiness!

(As seen in Power Women Magazine; by Deb Scott)

I have often said there needs to be a 12 step program for everyone.

A way to live with more self-awareness, detachment, acceptance and peace. A place of resourceful strength able to effectively kill those negative liar voices, the ones who seek to steal the precious positive real estate in your head.

Join the Party!

How and why do the 12 step programs help achieve your happy dream?

Imagine the steps are more simply broken down into four quadrants, or four pieces in a larger pie, or strong spokes in a wheel.

GFMG:

>The first set of 3 steps are about; Giving up
>The second set of 3 steps are about; Fessing up
>The third set of 3 steps are about; Making up
>The last set of 3 are about; Growing up

When we give up control of any situation, we are open to consider things we don’t know.

Once we are open to new ideas, we can see our part in any given circumstance, and focus on the only thing we have any control over anyway, and that would be us.

Once we are open and aware, we naturally want to heal any wounds by making up with the gift of forgiveness. Forgiving ourselves, and the other person, whether they deserve it or not.

Eventually, the process naturally helps us grow up and live life, on life’s terms. We stop the never-ending battle of wishing things were different, and accept things are what they are, grateful we did the best we could at the time with the information we had.

Gratitude for having learned valuable wisdom for the present moment and unwritten future.

It’s all a process.

The 12 Steps:

1. We admitted we were powerless over (insert your problem) —that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood him.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. We’re entirely ready to have God remove our shortcomings.

7. Humbly asked him to remove our shortcomings.

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood him, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all of our affairs.

Trees don’t grow twenty feet overnight, and neither does anything in the diamond of a person known as “you.”

GFMG is a winning equation you can always use to never lose!

ALL BOOKS REVIEW International ~ Highly Recommended! :)

“You don’t know, what you don’t know !”
“Simple? Yes. Easy to accept? No ! Deb Scott’s premise that “You don’t know, what you don’t know,” is the basis for transforming negatives into positives. It is the foundation for her book.
The Sky is Green and the Grass is Blue teaches readers to reverse their thinking; to turn all of life’s negativity into a positive, happy life. Starting at the beginning she convinces readers that help is just a step away. First and foremost you must open your mind and open your heart. Prayer is encouraged.
The author suggests that “going it alone” does not work. The book recommends several well-qualified organizations, at no cost to the member, that can help. The next step would be professional therapists and coaches and media tools, all practically listed and suggested. Numerous stories and anecdotes are included to make her point and provide entertainment.
Well organized, humorous, entertaining and yet, very in depth sensible advice, this book will be a great help to many people in conquering their fears and their past.”

A Review by Dr. Patrick A. O’Dougherty, out of the F. Scott Fitzgerald community of St. Paul, MN

“Brilliant!”

“Encouragement. Deb Scott should be encouraged. I come from a family of counselors. My mother, Patricia O’Dougherty, was a social worker on the charging team in Minneapolis. She worked with the women’s prison, alcoholics, and the Indian mothers. My father, James O’Dougherty, was an attorney who specialized in counseling. I have a counselor who specializes in counseling writers. I, first, sought counseling because I did not want to fall through the cracks in life. I am evaluating Deb Scott’s book not as a professional but as a consumer. Motivation. Motivation is one of the hardest topics to write about because it is very difficult to judge motivation. Actions speak louder than words. Writing a motivational book is quite an ambitious undertaking. Deb Scott maintains motivation should lead to action. This book review is an action, a defining point an outcome from reading the book. The strength of Deb Scott’s book is it is filled with prayers and profundities. It has exercises and a plan, focus and positive advice. It has religious themes without being preachy or proselytizing. I went to Washburn High School in Minneapolis. Dwayne Dwyer replicated the miracles of St. Francis of Assisi on the stage with the audience. I don’t think my high school physics teacher at Washburn, Mr. Requeway, could do this. Deb Scott is a replicable miracle. The kingdom of God is within. It is within you. It is within Deb Scott. Ironically, I made a teaching film which uses a similar exercise to the one Deb Scott does. My exercise is to spell your name with dots between the letters and then turn the letters of your name into a poem with another person’s name and then connect the dots and poems. Service. Get out of yourself is another profound piece of advice from Deb Scott. Surround yourself with motivational tapes, meditation and positive reinforcement. Advice I have found useful is to make a roadmap of your life and chart it. Gratitude. Count your blessings. Deb Scott’s advice, profundities and ironies are grace notes for new prescriptions in your life. I hope this review makes you feel new. Your book renewed my interest in your field. You want to change people’s thinking and lead them to do good. It is difficult to judge motivation. So, I won’t judge Deb Scott, rather accept. Brilliant!”

WOUNDED~TO~WONDERFUL

Wounded to Wonderful – what a brilliant catch phrase for daily living!

Like a left and right leg, we need both to stay upright and move forward in any direction.

Want to really go somewhere in your life? Don’t waste time trying to figure out if the left leg is bad, and the right leg wrong, or is it the right leg is wrong, and the left leg is right?

Beauty in a Broken Heart

Accept you need both, and surrender to the fact each is completely different for a reason, and both of their differences are working to help you achieve a bigger common goal which will make you happy. Now there is some right side up true blue sky thinking!

When Nancy Wait and I discussed her idea for the flow of her radio show, we brainstormed creative, fun, powerful ways you could gain imagrey and practical application to duplicate a consistent equation towards all things good for you.

Like the legs which take you to any physical desire, what are the spiritual vehicles which cooperate to bring you towards the dreams you seek?

Surrender + Hope = Knowing Self

Why does “Knowing Self” balance the equation? Because only in Knowing Self can one know anyone, or anything else.

Every person has a wound, this is an apparent bad we all share in common. It’s what allows you to read the story of someone you never met, and feel as if you have known them forever. The wound exposes your/my/our deep vulnerability.

So how can a wound be transformed into wonderful?

This question begs you to define exactly what “wonderful” means to YOU? Is it that warm and fuzzy feeling you get when opening a birthday gift? The attainment of a goal you have ached to acheive? Or is it finding the good lesson which makes good great, bad into good, or sadness into overwhelming joy?

Consider seeking to learn the good lesson in any given event, will automatically transform the event into something positive, regardless of what you may feel in the now moment. Consider you’re not finished yet. Consider the pressure of the circumstances you most detest, are helping you become your brightest happy best!

Discover the brilliance in the Diamond of the Amazing YOU!

Resisting Resistance

Why do we always seem to resist the very thing we want most? What is up with that?

You Can Do It!

Resistance manifests itself in many ugly ways, none of them helpful towards creating a full life you can love.

Let’s look at three top ways resistance can manifest itself, and how to transform these obstacles into stepping stones.

1. Procrastination-

This is huge. We often resist our own greatness by procrastinating. It always seems the top of the refrigerator needs to dusted, the windows washed, or the car cleaned, right when you plan on attacking one of your top priorities. This sabotage against success keeps you hostage, blocking your most creative self from engaging the world.,

2. Addictions-

Addictions can also be a form of resistance in that they suffocate your true self with a person, place, or thing, instead of keeping the focus on what you really want. Recognizing this addiction is only counterfeit happiness, is key.

3. Busyness-

Ever said, “I just don’t have time for that?” This is really not true, because we all make time for the things we want to do, not necessarily what we need to do. Staying busy in a drama king/queen life, only masks what you authentically desire to be busy with. So how do you transform these forms of resistance into platforms which spring board you into valuable action/results? Here is a winning equation to write down, and post where you can see it regularly.

Awareness + Acceptance = Action

You must first be aware you are resisting something of your own free will. Once you are aware you are doing this to yourself, you can accept it is happening, and you want to stop the behavior. Once you accept it is your choice to resist, you understand it is also your choice to stop revisiting. This can lead to a new action. A new action which results in getting your desire accomplished.

Laughter is a great medicine of the mind without side effects.

When you catch yourself resisting, laugh at yourself and admit, “There I go again!” When you bring resistance out in the open, you remove any power it has over you.

Resistance can be a positive road sign to motivate you to a higher level of creative expression, success, and a transformation.  A sure seal your best self is on it’s way.  Name it and claim it!
